7. Spirituality and Worship

In Shia Islam, spirituality is deeply intertwined with worship practices, such as Salat (prayer), Sawm (fasting), and Zakat (charity). These acts of devotion are accompanied by a vivid spirituality that emphasizes direct communion with God. Rituals often include invoking the names of the Imams, seeking their intercession, and engaging in ascetic practices that cultivate a heartfelt connection to the divine. This dimension of worship is aimed at fostering an inner transformation as well as an outer demonstration of faith.
