Al-Umra al-Mufrada

Once in the vicinity of the sacred city of Mecca, pilgrims engage in the Tawaf, encompassing the Kaaba seven times in a counter-clockwise direction. Each circuit symbolizes the soul’s journey towards divine closeness, and this physical act is intertwined with spiritual fervor, as believers are encouraged to supplicate and reflect during each lap.

Following Tawaf, the Sa’i ritual transpires between the hills of Safa and Marwah. This ritual memorializes Hagar’s tireless search for water for her son, Ishmael, and underscores the themes of perseverance and faith. Participants traverse this distance seven times, embodying the relentless pursuit of sustenance and divine mercy.

Concluding the pilgrimage involves the shaving of the head for men and the cutting of hair for women, symbolizing rebirth and renewal of faith. This act serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative nature of spiritual journeys.
