Evening Prayer

2. Rituals and Structure of Salat al-Maghrib

The evening prayer consists of three units (rak’ahs) and is traditionally performed just after sunset. The structure is meticulously designed to facilitate a deep connection with the Divine, incorporating both physical movements and recitation of Qur’anic verses.

The first rak’ah begins with the opening takbir, wherein the worshipper raises their hands and declares the greatness of Allah. This is followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha and another Surah, maintaining a thematic continuity that enhances spiritual immersion. The sequence of bowing (ruku) and prostration (sujud) serves to further embody submission, allowing the believer to channel spiritual reverence.

Maleeha el-Hamdan

hi, my name is Maleeha el-Hamdan, a warm and unassuming introduction that gently opens the door to a life shaped by faith and reflection. Rooted in the shia tradition, I carry my identity with quiet confidence and thoughtful awareness. My outlook is guided by islam beliefs, influencing how I interpret the world around me—simply, yet profoundly. I embrace religious practices not as routine, but as meaningful rituals woven into daily life. There’s intention in everything. Inspired by scholars teachings, I continue to learn, question, and evolve, blending tradition with a modern, introspective voice.
