The Importance of Intention (Niyyah)
Central to Hozur Qalb is the concept of intention, known as Niyyah. Intention serves as a precursor to every action and must be pure for the act itself to hold value. In the context of prayer, supplication, or any form of worship, Niyyah acts as a catalyst for achieving Hozur Qalb. One must strive to nurture a heart that is free from ulterior motives or distractions, facilitating direct communion with God.
This pursuit poses an interesting challenge: how does one maintain a pure intention amidst the myriad distractions that saturate contemporary life? The rapid pace of modern society often leads individuals to perform rituals out of habit rather than spiritual engagement. Thus, while the rituals might be performed, the essence—a genuine Hozur Qalb—can easily be lost.
