Maghrib

From a ritual perspective, the Maghrib prayer consists of three units (rak’ahs), differing from the four required for Dhuhr and Asr. Each rak’ah includes the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha followed by another surah from the Quran, reinforcing the foundational belief in the recitation of divine texts as a means of spiritual connection. The emphasis on the auditory aspect, where the faithful listen to and recite verses, serves to enhance cognitive engagement in worship.

Moreover, pre-Maghrib rituals include the performance of a Sunnah prayer comprising two rak’ahs, which is highly encouraged. The Sunnah, while not obligatory, affirms the devotion of the follower and aligns their actions with the prophetic traditions (Hadith), further deepening their spiritual practice. The incorporation of supplications (du’as) after the prayer provides an additional layer of spiritual enrichment, fostering a direct dialogue between the believer and the Divine.
