Nafila of daily prayers

These prayers are performed throughout the day, often immediately preceding or following the obligatory prayers. For instance, it is highly recommended to offer two units (Rak‘ah) of Nafila before the Fajr prayer and four units prior to the Dhuhr prayer. Such acts reflect the concept of establishing a continual dialogue with the Divine, nurturing the soul’s receptivity to Allah’s guidance.

2.2 Nafila of the Night

The night offers a unique sanctity in Islamic tradition, making it an opportune time for reflection and prayer. Nafila prayers at night often include the Tahajjud prayer, which is performed in the latter part of the night. This volitional time encourages solitude and introspection, aligning the heart and mind to the whisperings of the Divine. The recommended units for the Tahajjud can vary but are typically at least two Rak‘ahs, with additional units performed based on the individual’s capacity and spiritual aspirations.
