Surah 73

One of the central tenets of this Surah is the emphatic encouragement of night prayer (Tahajjud). The first few verses explicitly instruct the Prophet to engage in prayer during the night, emphasizing its importance as a means to spiritual elevation. The concept of “Tahajjud” is not merely ritualistic but serves as an avenue for profound personal reflection and connection to the divine. Shia teachings expound on this notion, underscoring the historical significance of nocturnal worship in the lives of the Imams, reinforcing its role as a conduit for enhanced spirituality.

Furthermore, this practice of night prayer is tied to the Adhan (call to prayer) and the importance of establishing a connection with Allah during the peaceful hours of the night. Engaging in such devotion is seen as a means of fortifying the believer against the trials of the day.
