Accountability in the Hereafter
Central to the Shia belief system is the notion of accountability after death. Surah Al-Mulk addresses this concept explicitly, delineating the consequences of one’s earthly deeds. In verses that convey the torment of the disbelievers, there exists a profound warning that serves as an admonition to repent and adhere to the tenets of faith. “They will say, ‘Our Lord, we have listened to a caller calling to faith, saying, ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed.’” This potent invocation emphasizes the necessity of sincere faith and the associated responsibilities.
