Zayd b. Ali b. al-Husayn (a)

In 122 AH (740 CE), Zayd launched a rebellion against the Umayyad regime, motivated by his belief that true leadership must stem from the rightful lineage of the Prophet. His insurrection was not merely a quest for power; it was a profound manifestation of his commitment to social justice and ethical governance. He sought to restore the caliphate to someone he deemed just and rightful, out of a desire to elevate the moral standing of the Muslim community.

His rebellion ended in tragedy when he was killed in battle in 740 CE. Zayd’s martyrdom further solidified his status as a symbol of resistance against oppression and tyranny. His actions, though ultimately unsuccessful in achieving political power, inspired subsequent generations to uphold the principles of justice and equity in their struggles.
