Zikr of God

The Zikr of God manifests in various forms, each with its unique characteristics and benefits. Among the predominant types are the following:

  • Zikr Qalbi (Heartfelt Remembrance): This form emphasizes inner contemplation and reflection. It is predicated upon harboring the awareness of God within one’s heart, leading to a state of tranquility and spiritual fulfillment.
  • Zikr Lisani (Oral Remembrance): This type involves the verbal recitation of divine names and phrases. Common expressions include “SubhanAllah” (Glory be to Allah), “Alhamdulillah” (Praise be to Allah), and “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest). This form serves not only as a spiritual exercise but also as a means to cultivate awareness.
  • Zikr Jihadi (Striving Remembrance): Predominantly relevant in contexts of conflict and adversity, this Zikr encourages believers to invoke God’s support through supplication and recitation, reinforcing their resolve and bolstering their courage in the face of challenges.

Beyond these classifications, the act of Zikr can also be communal, fostering a sense of unity and collective consciousness within gatherings, such as Majlis or congregational prayers.

Maleeha el-Hamdan

hi, my name is Maleeha el-Hamdan, a warm and unassuming introduction that gently opens the door to a life shaped by faith and reflection. Rooted in the shia tradition, I carry my identity with quiet confidence and thoughtful awareness. My outlook is guided by islam beliefs, influencing how I interpret the world around me—simply, yet profoundly. I embrace religious practices not as routine, but as meaningful rituals woven into daily life. There’s intention in everything. Inspired by scholars teachings, I continue to learn, question, and evolve, blending tradition with a modern, introspective voice.
